Size guide
Finding your fit.
Hartbrooks pieces are cut generously for movement. If you are between sizes, or ordering from abroad and unsure, send us your measurements and we will confirm the size before anything is made or sent.
How to measure
Use a soft tape, over light clothing, and keep the tape level rather than tight.
- Bust: around the fullest part of your chest, with your arms down.
- Waist: around the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
- Hips: around the fullest part, roughly 20cm below your waist.
- Length: from your shoulder to where you would like the hem to fall.
Rather be talked through it? The measure-yourself guide takes one measurement at a time and keeps your place if you stop.
Size numbers
The numbers on our pieces are UK dress sizes. These are the usual equivalents elsewhere:
| UK | US | EU |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 4 | 36 |
| 10 | 6 | 38 |
| 12 | 8 | 40 |
| 14 | 10 | 42 |
| 16 | 12 | 44 |
| 18 | 14 | 46 |
| 20 | 16 | 48 |
Conversions are a guide rather than a rule, since every maker cuts differently. Your measurements are what we actually work from.
Made to measure
Many pieces can be made to your own measurements instead of a standard size. Choose “Made to measure” where it is offered, or start a bespoke enquiry and we will guide you through it.
